Yashaswini has a very strong presence in Western Maharashtra and for most causes towards the upliftment of rural women and girls, Yashaswini was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs and making them independent. At Yashaswini Foundation, we are trying to set global standards for achieving gender equality. We encourage civil society to participate in programmes and services needed to ensure that the standards are effectively implemented and truly benefit women and girls.
At Yashaswini our Mission is to promote gender equality, we communicate to rural women that gender equality is not only a basic human right, but its achievement has enormous socio-economic ramifications. We believe, empowering women fuels thriving economies, spurring productivity and growth. Gender inequalities remain deeply entrenched in every society. Women lack access to decent work and they have to face occupational segregation and gender wage gaps. They are too often denied access to basic education and health care. Women in all parts of the rural sector suffer violence and discrimination. They are under-represented in political, economical and social decision-making processes. Yashaswini Foundation is working hard to end this discrimination and bring about a positive change in the said areas through education, empowerment, financial independence to these Women and Girls.
For many years, the state machinery faced serious challenges in its efforts to promote gender equality in the rural sectors, including inadequate funding and no single recognized driver to direct governmental activities on gender equality issues. Our vision is to make the United Nations; Sustainable Development Goals, a reality for women and girls and stands behind women’s equal participation in all aspects of life. Yashaswini has been focusing on strategic priorities: Girlchild Education or rural and underprivileged. Rural Women Empowerment. Financial Independence, Income Security, Decent Work for Rural Women. Women's participation and equal benefits from governance systems. Women and girls contribute to and have greater influence in building sustainable peace and resilience, and benefit equally from the prevention of natural disasters and conflicts and humanitarian action. Our endeavour is to help the underprivileged classes from the rural sectors while working for the empowerment and rights of women and girls at the State & National levels.
